* Reservation fees made for training are "non-refundable." Classes can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the date of the class, if fail to reschedule the full cost of the class will be lost. Members will have a 20% discount in all classes taught by MCTA. Discounts will not include guest instructors who are not affiliated with MCTA Inc.

The first half of this class will be taught in our indoor facility (1309 S Haugh Ave. Picayune, MS), after lunch you will transfer to our outdoor range.
Class Synopsis:
Teaches the skills needed for home defense. Students will learn strategies and tactics to successfully protect themselves, their families and their home. Topics covered will be:
- Shoot or not to shoot
- Basic structure clearing
- Selecting a handgun for protection
- Why rifles and shotguns may not be the best weapon of choice when engaging a target in your home
- Information on an individual’s right to self-defense inside their home.

- Basic defensive shooting skills
- Strategies for home safety
- Strategies for responding to a violent confrontation
- Firearms and the law
- How to choose a handgun for self-defense
- Legal Aspects of Self-Defense
